Trigeminal nerve block is a well-known useful treatment procedure for trigeminal neuralgia, which is conventionally performed under C-arm guidance. However, both physicians and patients are consequently exposed to radiation during the fluoroscopic guided procedures. To avoid the hazard of radiation, an ultrasound guided technique has been recently introduced with promising results. We performed several trigeminal nerve blocks under ultrasound guidance, in a patient with trigeminal neuralgia after a dental procedure. Each treatment resulted in immediate anesthesia in the maxillary (V2) region, and the patient had complete relief of the pain after the last block. Ultrasound guided Trigeminal nerve block may be a useful and safe technique with free of the risk of radiation.
